Safeguarding at Mosaic

Safeguarding at Mosaic means protecting the wellbeing, dignity and rights of our members, visitors, staff and volunteers, ensuring everyone can access support in a safe, respectful and inclusive environment.

Because we work alongside adults living with mental health challenges, young adults and people in crisis, safeguarding is embedded in everything we do; from creating safe, supportive spaces and responding to concerns, to helping people make informed choices about their recovery.

Types of safeguarding concerns

At Mosaic, safeguarding can include concerns around:

  • physical abuse – harm, assault, inappropriate restraint or unsafe environments

  • emotional / psychological abuse – intimidation, threats, humiliation, coercion or bullying

  • self-neglect – risks linked to mental ill health, crisis, lack of self-care or unsafe living situations

  • financial abuse – exploitation, theft, scams or misuse of benefits and finances

  • sexual abuse – unwanted sexual contact, exploitation or coercion

  • discriminatory abuse – abuse linked to race, disability, sexuality, gender or mental health stigma

  • domestic abuse – coercive control, violence or abuse in close relationships

  • digital / online abuse – cyberbullying, exploitation, scams or unsafe online contact

  • neglect or acts of omission – failing to meet care, health or support needs

  • radicalisation / exploitation – being groomed, manipulated or exploited by others

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility at Mosaic, and we are committed to creating spaces where people feel safe, heard and supported to thrive.
