I no longer feel ‘all over the place’

I came to the Sanctuary because of social isolation, coming out of an abusive relationship and unsatisfactory housing. I have been trying to stay well and safe, but lack capacity to ensure my safety.

I have been here three weeks. I have found it very beneficial. I was made to feel welcome from the start.  I get emotional support here and a cooked meal, which is important to me as I find shopping and cooking challenging at the moment. I like being in the Sanctuary space, especially at present, as my place is small and I get quite panicky. I’ve been able to do things for myself since being here, such as going to the hairdressers today. Talking to people has increased my confidence in myself. I no longer feel ‘all over the place’.

"The Sanctuary has been my life-line over the last two weeks – without it I think I would have ended up in hospital or screaming on the street"

The Sanctuary has been my life-line over the last two weeks – without it I think I would have ended up in hospital or screaming on the street. It is an exceptional service.
