Since the first lockdown in March 2020 Mosaic has been giving food to members who need it, those who are self isolating or short on funds. We started giving out our café supplies, then buying in extra tinned and long life food as the pandemic continued. During the second national lockdown we used our Christmas party budget to continue to buy supplies. We then launched our Winter Campaign to fundraise for more funds to continue our work. Recently the Asda Foundation has given us a donation towards our food parcels too.
One member, Heather, says,
I’ve been a member at Mosaic for a few months but haven’t yet been to the building, due to the pandemic. I’m looking forward to getting involved in some of the activities when I can.
I’ve got an Engagement Worker who calls me, she’s a gemstone, she’s given me a lot of advice. She’s also really easy to talk to.
I’ve been struggling, I fled domestic violence, I have issues with debt. I was stuck for food, I told my worker and she said Mosaic could deliver a food parcel. I’m also shielding, and I don’t like going out on my own.
Getting a food parcel helped in a lot of ways, physically, emotionally. It was a godsend, I even got some cat biscuits for my cats!
