Growing in ConfidenceBefore I heard about the Transitional Employment Program (TEP) at the Living Well Network Hub I had been regularly attending Mosaic and was starting to run out of things to do so the TEP was a good way to mix things up and get some new experience whilst doing so. At first I was apprehensive about starting the role, not because I didn’t feel like I could do it, I was nervous because I would be starting my first paid job. However, I decided to go ahead with it and upon being introduced to some of the staff at the TEP, I was slightly surprised at how nice the atmosphere is there and even more so in how welcoming they were to me. Feeling more confident about the role I got stuck in and started to develop a routine of going to work. In hindsight, I should have picked the morning shift in the beginning but it was only later through experience that I realised the morning shift was more suitable to myself. Over time I gained more experience working in a more formal admin environment and learned a greater appreciation of the behind the scenes work involved. Because of what the Living Well Network Hub does and who they work, made me realise even more the importance of maintaining a standard of service and helped me improve my time keeping and prioritising skills.
